AIDS 2024, the 25th International AIDS Conference, took place in Munich, Germany, and virtually from 22 to 26 July 2024. An estimated 15,000 participants from around the world attended AIDS 2024, and the great majority will do so in person.
At the International AIDS Conference from 22nd to 26th July in Munich will have a delegation from SOLID Scientific Coordinators, Postdocs and PhDs.
The group includes scientists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, China and Germany attended. At the German Booth (booth of the Federal Ministeries (BMG) and Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Federal Center for Health Education (BZGA), German AIDS Help (Deutsche AIDS Hilfe) among others, they presented on Tuesday 23d of July the HIV/AIDS situation in Central Asia and China. On Thursday 25th of July in the networking zone of NGOs in the "Global Village" a SOLID Debate „Building communities, demanding changes: The role of NGOs in HIV prevention among people who use drugs in Central Asia and China” will be presented. Guzalkhon Zakhidova will discuss HIV prevention in Uzbekistan. Alla Bessonova will offer a community perspective on developing services for women with HIV in Kyrgyzstan. Sandugash Ismagulova will talk about case management in Kazakhstan. Pulod Dzhamolov will present prevention and care programs in Tajikistan. Yan Zhao will report about HIV-related counseling in China. Sebastian Baier will discuss harm reduction services development for drug users in Berlin as a "fast-track" city.
During the conference, the new solid book on "HIV/AIDS in Central Asia and China" is presented.
